Hospital in Wales
Two dust collectors being used in the Artificial Limbs & Prosthetics Department at a hospital in Wales needed replacing due to their age. The exterior casing of the filter units had become rusty and both units looked like they had seen better days.
Materials used by the department generate a variety of types of dust, some of which are potentially explosive, so needed to be controlled using ATEX rated LEV equipment that complies with DSEAR regulations.
Our dedicated Dust team specified two Dustcheck Compact 120 units - 1 x SFKJ 30-3.5-10 and 1 x SFKJ 20-3.5-10 to effectively remove GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), Carbon Fibre/Resin, and Plastics & Foams dust. Both units were fitted with explosion vent panels to ensure they comply with DSEAR regulations and the ATEX Directives.
Filtermist's Contracts team installed the two units and all associated ducting to the exterior of the hospital building.
The installation was completed successfully and the new dust extractors help the hospital ensure all potentially harmful dust generated in the Artificial Limbs & Prosthetics Department is effectively controlled, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulatory requirements.
