Flour Dust Extraction For Pie Manufacturer

Installation of a Dustcheck Maxi 9 FS filter.

Unit Duty: 12,000m³/hr.
Extracted Dust: Flour.
Fan: 22.0kW Centrifugal Fan (top mounted).

As this unit was going to be used to extract explosive flour dust, the customer required an ATEX certified solution. The filter needed an explosion panel, but the location (external car park) meant we had to fit a wedge to move the vent off the horizontal plane, so in the unlikely event of an explosion the flame would vent vertically up.

On this unit, in lieu of the wedge, we went with a new design of fitting a DivEx Flame Deflector, so if the explosion vent ever bursts under an explosion, the panel will hit the deflector bars and the flame will then vent up towards the sky.
